We stayed close to home this summer, after returning from the US. We enjoyed all sorts of fun, local activities, such as the Fete de Geneve, an agricultural art installation, an old boat festival in Morges. We hit some great parks nearby, which had amazing views and fun parks. We did have to say farewell to some friends too, like Hayden's friend Braxton (and our friends Terricka and Eric) but we know we'll see them back state-side in the not-too-distant future.
End of Summer came. Hayden started school and we made the great parenting decision to pull him out on his 2nd day to take a trip to London! Actually, it wasn't really planned this way, but Marty had a business trip and we made the quick decision to go, before realizing Hayden was back in school. So I had to go pick him up on his first day, race to the airport, and endure two high energy boys for the flight there, where we met Marty.
We saw all the major sights, rode on a double decker bus and the Tube. We arrived Thursday night and left Sunday afternoon. So it was really only 1 1/2 days but we saw quite a lot!
Marty and I also went away for a long weekend in Sicily. Our hotel was perfectly situated by the water and the warm weather was a welcome change from a very unseasonably cold and wet summer in Geneva.
When Fall starts, we now have a tradition of going apple picking and the Desalpes (first time it didn't rain!!) It's amazing to think we are starting annual traditions here!
